About Phillip Jennings

Phillip Jennings, owner of Phillip Jennings Turf Farms, began his career as a teacher in Johnson & Treutlen Counties. For 17 years Phillip was very active as a teacher and Future Farmers of America advisor. While he was teaching school he was also farming on the side. He often commented that he taught school during the day and farmed all night.

In 1997 the sod farm began and Phillip started his full time career as a sod farmer. The farm started with 100 acres of grass and now includes over 3,000 acres with center-pivot irrigation. The turf farm moves over 6,000 semi loads of grass each year to golf courses, homeowners, and developments. As an avid conservationist, Phillip had built 10 lakes to conserve ground water for the operation.

Phillip Jennings Turf Farms now ships sod daily throughout the Southeast and around the world. We are currently shipping to Mexico, China, South Africa, Bermuda, Spain, Dubai, Puerto Rico, and the Bahamas.
